Top 3 Travel Tips For Fresh Faces

Everyone can agree the pandemic has been long. But with vaccinations and more outside time on the horizon due to the arrival of Spring, more people are beginning to safely venture outside of their homes. From road trips to masked air travel to relaxing at close-by VRBO cabins, Americans are on the move.

Once the travel is booked, the first step I usually take is to make a packing list. This may include clothing, toiletries, electronics, and snacks, of course. While it may be tempting to skip bringing your skin care favorites with you on the road, that may not be the best idea. Have you ever tried the hotel bar soap on your face? It can leave your skin feeling flaky, itchy, and dry. Instead, pare down your usual routine into a few simple multi-taskers that will keep your skin looking and feeling healthy, smooth, moisturized – and wrinkle-free. After all, you’ll likely be snapping a few – or several hundred – photos. Here’s all you need to create a simple, on-the-go skin care routine:

1. Go with a gentle, natural face cleanser.

Depending on where you are going, the environment can wreak havoc on your skin. Ever headed to the desert and your face felt like a lizard’s skin? On the other hand, if you escape to the beach, the humidity may blanket your skin with moisture. By bringing an all-natural, gentle cleanser, you’ll be cleaning your skin without stripping excess moisture, as well as not adding anything that could cause oily skin and acne breakouts. Not sure where to start with a gentle facial cleanser? Goop lists a few of their non-toxic favorites, ranging from $28 to $100. If you are looking for something you can grab at the drugstore, lifestyle website MindBodyGreen suggests 11 of their favorites (and they’re all under $20!), from Burt’s Bees Sensitive Facial Cleanser to Pacifica Coconut Milk Cream to Foam Face Wash.

    2. Make the most of a multi-tasking moisturizer with sunscreen.

Multi-tasking products are perfect for travel, allowing you more room in your overly stuffed bags. If you’re like me, those bags are already full of shoes and sundresses. Instead of bringing a moisturizer and a facial sunscreen bottle, try a combination product to save space and keep your skin safe and healthy. Remember, even if you’re spending the day at the ocean and the forecast is cloudy, you can still catch UV rays and a sunburn. That’s why the American Academy of Dermatology recommends a sunscreen with a SPF factor of at least 30 daily – no matter the weather. Water-resistance is another factor to look for in your sunscreen. And don’t forget to reapply every two hours – especially if you’re lucky enough to be swimming and spending the day in and out of a pool.

    3. Fight fine lines with Furlesse.

In addition to being exceptionally easy to pack due to their size and weight, Furlesse patches give your skin the extra boost it needs to look smooth and wrinkle-free for all of your vacation selfies. Once you’ve cleansed and moisturized, just place a Furlesse patch on your skin for smooth, wrinkle-free skin. You can even wear patches while lounging by the pool with your phone because they are clear and weightless – no one will even know!

Furlesse patches are targeted to your specific needs to leave you with fewer fine lines and visible wrinkles – crows address stubborn eye lines, elevens smooth the set of parallel lines between your eyes, rows smooth out forehead wrinkles, and lip-sticks address the lines on the sides of your mouth. Or, you can get the complete four-pack for the ultimate skin-smoothing experience.

You’re ready to get packed and get going.

If you’re still not sold on bringing a few bottles along in your luggage or you want something TSA-friendly to throw in your purse or carry-on, try simplifying by bringing facial wipes and Furlesse patches. Both are light and easy to fit in the most overcrowded of handbags. Unsure where to start on the facial wipes? You’re not alone – they run the gamut from exfoliating spa treatments to antioxidant-filled vitamin sheets. Thankfully, Allure magazine picked their 14 favorite face wipes to help you narrow it down.

Now that you have a better idea of how to pack for healthy, smooth, wrinkle-free skin, you can spend the rest of your time daydreaming about the things you want to do (or not do) on your trip. Bon voyage!
